Dog-friendly beaches
Marazion
There are miles of coastline and beautiful areas to walk your dog in the area but some beaches are off limits to dogs either entirely or for certain hours in the day so please do check before setting off.
During the summer months (July 1st to August 31st) dogs are not allowed on the main West Beach in Marazion between 10am and 6pm, so early morning and evening walks are permitted.
Dogs are allowed on Marazion East Beach all day. This beach is brilliant for dogs as they cannot escape onto any roads or private property.
Access is via Leys Lane – walk up the hill past the shops and church, then turn right into Leys Lane, just before the cafe called Delicious. Towards the end of this lane is a turning to the left with a set of steps leading down onto the beach.
From the house you can also do a short walk up to the Marazion Beacon: turn right out of the house and follow the road round to the right. After a short distance you will see a small path on the left signposted to the Beacon. At the top of the hill there are lovely views over Marazion and a couple of farmers’ fields with a path running around the edge of them.
Long Rock
A short drive away is Long Rock beach which also allows dogs all day. From Marazion drive through Long Rock and turn left at Enterprise Car Hire, cross over the railway line and you will reach the car park (pay and display). This is a lovely long beach.
Hayle
Porthkidney Beach allows dogs all year round and is a long sandy beach which is also good for families. Parking is near St Uny Church, Lelant.
